Corn?

Would you like to know what the world would be like without corn?  Over 2,000 acres of corn grow in Illinois. Here are some of America"s most popular corn products: corn bread, cornstarch, popcorn, candy corn, corn on the cob and corn flakes.

Now that we've talked about basics, we'll move on to the pizazz. The main ingredients in most dry pet food is corn.  One bushel of corn will sweeten more than 400 cans of Coca Cola. There is corn casserole, corn butter, corn pudding, corn sausage chowder, and even corn plastic. And you may not believe it, corn is in toothpaste!

So the next time you brush your teeth, you'll be brushing them with corn. Next time you see a corn field,  you'll know it's not just corn on the cob.

Recipe for Corn Bread

2 cups of corn meal
1 1/2 cups of flour [any kind]
2 tsp of salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp of baking soda
2 tbsp of sugar [optional]
3 eggs beaten

Preparation

Pour all the ingredients into the mixing bowl and stir them until it becomes a nice thick paste. Then pour the paste into a  baking dish that you would use for a lasagna. Put it in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes .

Yum!
